KANSAS CITY, Kan. - T-Bones second baseman Rob Watson has earned recognition at the national level for his play in a T-Bones uniform this season. Baseball America has named Watson to its All-Independent Leagues second team.
Watson, 26, was named 2007 Co-MVP of the T-Bones, postseason Northern League All-Star and T-Bones Fan Favorite. He also won Northern League Player of the Week and Player of the Month honors this season. Watson hit .343 with eight home runs and 72 runs batted in-all career highs-playing in his first season with Kansas City.
The Northern League had four other players featured on Baseball America's list between the first and second teams. They include Willie Glen, Gary; Darryl Brinkley, Calgary; Carlos Duncan, Calgary; and Luis Alen, Winnipeg. Two-time Major League All-Star Carl Everett was also recognized on the second team list.
