ROANOKE, Va., Feb. 27âMarque Perry scored 24 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in the 94-85 loss to the Huntsville Flight Friday night at the Roanoke Civic Center. Both teams fouled early and often, combining for 48 team fouls.
Huntsville won the physical game from the line. The Flight shot 77 percent from the charity stripe in a 20-26 effort. The Dazzle made only 63 percent from the stripe, going 22-35.
"We missed free throws and were outscored in the paint," said Dazzle head coach Kent Davison. "As big as we are we should score a lot of points inside. They outscored us 46-36 in the paint. "
The Flight was led by Manteen Cleeves with 28 points. Rod Grizzard added 18 points to go along with his 10 rebounds.
Josh Asselin and Mikki Moore were the other Dazzle players in double figures with 13 and 12.
"We were in low numbers tonight," said Flight Head Coach Ralph Lewis. "But we pulled it together and came out with the win."
The Dazzle and Flight return to action tomorrow afternoon at the Roanoke Civic Center. Gates open at 12:00 p.m. Tip off is set for 1:00 p.m.
