Roadrunners Use Early Runs

EDINBURG, Texas - The Edinburg Roadrunners scored four runs in the first inning to defeat the McAllen Thunder by a score 4-2 at Edinburg Baseball Stadium in game one of a double header.

The Roadrunners (6-8) got on the board first when Agustin Septimo hit a double to drive in Tomochika Tsuboi to make 1-0.

Fernando de los Santos hit a double and drove in Septimo to make a 2-0 in favor of the Roadrunners.

After a walk and foul fly out, Chris Christopolous hit a single to increase the lead to 4-0 and chased Thunder starter Jackson Yedi from the game.

Yedi (0-3) took the loss for the Thunder as he only lasted one third of an inning allowing four earned runs.

The Thunder (6-8) score twice in the second inning on RBI singles by Vince Coleman Jr. and Jose Soledad.

Curtis Camilli (1-1) earned his first win of the season going five innings allowing five hits and two earned runs while striking out four.

Julio Castro notched his second save of the season while throwing a scoreless ninth inning.
