EDINBURG, Texas---The Edinburg Roadrunners of the United League announced today that they have signed former United League MVP Nelson Teilon.

Teilon won the MVP award in 2007 after posting a .368 batting average with 21 home runs and 95 RBIs, all career highs. He also challenged for the Triple Crown in his MVP season but missed out after Ryan Fox led the league in home runs.

Teilon split the 2010 season with Saltillo and Campeche of the Mexican League where he posted a combined batting average of .311 while hitting 14 home runs and 72 RBIs.

In 2009, Teilon spent most of the season in the Mexican League with Saltillo and Tabasco combining for 18 home runs and 72 RBIs.

Teilon has a career batting average of .301 with 120 home runs and 561 RBIs in nine seasons and is expected to be in uniform for the Roadrunners game Thursday night against the Coastal Bend Thunder.
