Roadrunners Beaten By Amerks

ROCHESTER, NY - The Toronto Roadrunners were defeated 3-2 by the Rochester Americans on Saturday night at the Blue Cross Arena. The Roadrunners record now stands at 9-13-3-2.

Jamie Wright, with his team leading 11th of the year, and Rocky Thompson, with his first of the season, scored for the Roadrunners.

Jason Botterill, with a pair of goals, and Jason Pominville, with two assists, led the way offensively for the Amerks. Milan Bartovic also scored for Rochester. Scott Ricci, David Cullen, and Domenic Pittis recorded assists for the Americans.

Dan Smith, Tony Salmelainen, and Jani Rita earned assists for the Roadrunners. With the assist, Rita extended his point streak to five games (3 goals, 2 assists).

In goal, Stephen Valiquette made 31 saves for the Roadrunners, while Tom Askey stopped 24 shots for the Amerks.

Neither team could manage a power play goal, with Toronto going 0 for 4, while Rochester was 0 for 3.

The Roadrunners next action takes place Thursday, December 18th, when the Philadelphia Phantoms visit the Ricoh Coliseum.
