
Road Warriors Take Series Opener 4-3

Bridgewater, NJ- The Road Warriors (2-14, 18-61) defeated the Somerset Patriots (14-4, 49-32) 4-3 at TD Bank Ballpark on Friday evening.
The Patriots took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when Craig Massey stole home.
The Road Warriors tied up the game on a run-scoring error in the top of the second inning before taking a 2-1 lead in the next inning on an RBI single by Edwin Gomez.
Alfredo Rodriguez's RBI triple and a run-scoring wild pitch put Somerset up 3-2 in the bottom of the third inning.
The Road Warriors tied up the game again in the top of the fifth on an RBI single by Edwin Gomez.
A bases loaded hit by pitch of Melvin Rodriguez in the top of the ninth inning gave the Road Warriors a 4-3 advantage, which would be the final.
Kelvin Villa (3-7) got the win with two scoreless innings pitched. Chase Huchingson (4-1) suffered the loss, allowing a run on two hits in an inning pitched. Jose Ortega earned his first save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning.
