Road Warriors Mash Their Way To Win

Mike Mooney was 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs as the Road Warriors jumped out to a 9-0 lead and held on to beat the Camden Riversharks 12-6. The win for the Road Warriors snaps a seven-game losing streak, their longest losing streak of the season.

Luke Massetti (5-3) picked up the victory despite allowing a season-high six runs in six innings of work.

The Road Warriors jumped on the scoreboard early in the top of the 1st against ‘Sharks starter Federico Baez. With runners on 1st and 3rd and one out, Danny Richar committed a throwing error on Mike Mooney's fielder's choice, which resulted in two runs scoring for the Road Warriors.

Mike Mooney extended the lead in the top of the 3rd when he hit a three-run home run, his 2nd of the season, to give the Warriors a 5-0 advantage.

The Road Warriors chased Baez from the game in the 4th inning with four more runs as they batted around in the frame. After Jonel Pacheco hit an RBI double, Sean Henry followed suit with a two-run double himself extending the lead to 9-0.

Henry was 2-for-4 on the game with two RBIs and also scored twice.

Baez (4-1) left after just 2.1 innings with an injury allowing a season-high eight runs on six hits while walking five.

Camden got on the board in the bottom of the fourth with three runs highlighted by a two-run triple by Noah Hall to cut the deficit to 9-3.

After the Road Warriors added a run in the top of the 6th, the Riversharks battled back with three runs in the bottom of the 6th. Danny Richar launched a two-run home run and Toby Hall followed that up with an RBI single to bring the Riversharks within four at 10-6.

Jonel Pacheco put it out of reach in the top of the 9th with a two-run double off John Bale to give the Road Warriors a 12-6 lead. Pacheco finished the evening 3-for-6 with three RBIs.

The Warriors and Riversharks will play the second game of this three-game series tomorrow night as Miguel Martinez (4-3) will face off against Josh Towers (2-2). First pitch is scheduled for 5:35 PM.
