Riversharks Host Homerun Derby on Battleship New Jersey this Saturday

CAMDEN, N.J. -- This Saturday, August 1st, the Camden Riversharks, Battleship New Jersey, and McAllister Towing will partner to present the Second Annual Homerun Derby off of the ship's deck and into the Delaware River.

The homerun derby will run from 10am-1pm, and feature Camden Riversharks hitters. Individuals are also urged to participate and register for this unique opportunity during the fan portion of the homerun derby.

Individuals can participate in the Homerun Derby alongside the Camden Riversharks and will receive five swings off of the battleship's deck for $10. Participants will swing off of a hitting tee. Proceeds from each ticket sold will be donated toward Battleship New Jersey.

If you would only like to observe the homerun derby, entry onto the battleship's deck is free of charge. A tour of the rest of the Battleship New Jersey comes with an additional charge.

The Homerun Derby will coincide with Military Appreciation Night later that evening at Campbell's Field, where all military members will be honored throughout the game. For this game, all active duty military personnel and veterans will receive a free 200 level ticket when they present a military I.D. at the box office.

If you participate in the Homerun Derby, you will also receive a free ticket to Military Appreciation Night, which begins at 5:35pm. A fireworks spectacular will occur after this special game honoring those that serve our country.
