Peoria Rivermen News Release
Peoria Rivermen head coach Jean-Guy Trudel has announced that the team has traded for defenseman Bryant Doerrsam from the Louisiana Ice Gators in exchange for cash.
Doerrsam, 24, played four games for the Ice Gators this season and recorded four penalty minutes with a plus-1 rating. Last year, the Niagara Falls, Ontario native appeared in 39 games for the SPHL's Huntsville Havoc, where he notched five goals and 108 penalty minutes in his first professional season.
Prior to turning pro, the 6'2, 195-pound enforcer played two seasons at Queens University, as well as two seasons of junior hockey in the Ontario Junior Hockey League. There, he suited up for the Stouffville Spirit and Hamilton Red Wings for a combined 89 games.
Peoria begins a home-and-home series next weekend against the Bloomington Thunder with a 7:15 p.m. puck drop on Friday at Carver Arena. The game can be heard locally on CD Country 107.9 FM or online at www.cd1079.net . Fans can also follow along via the live video and audio stream at www.americaonesports.com.
