Peoria Rivermen News Release

CALL(AHAN) ON ME

Last night's 4-3 Peoria loss featured a pair of assists by Rivermen defenseman Jack Callahan, giving him his second straight multi-point game, and Callahan's two-assist nights Friday and Saturday represent his first two multi-point games in his SPHL career. Callahan began his pro career last year with Pensacola where he skated in six regular-season contests and two playoff games, scoring one goal. This season before coming to Peoria Callahan saw action in five games without a point between Fayetteville and Huntsville, as well as 13 games for the FHL's Port Huron Prowlers, where he logged four goals and 11 assists. Since joining the Rivermen, Callahan has posted one goal and four assists in 11 games.

A CASE OF THE WILLIES

Rivermen forward Chris Wilson posted a goal last night to extend his point-scoring streak to six games. Over Peoria's last six games, Wilson has a team-best 10 points on six goals and four assists. Since joining Peoria in a November trade with Louisiana, the 2010-11 SPHL Rookie of the Year has logged 14 goals and 17 assists in 28 games as a member of the Rivermen.

THE WHOLE SHOOTING MATCH

The Rivermen enter play tonight second in the SPHL in shots on goal per game this season at 34.32 while leading the league in fewest SOG allowed per game at 29.03. In the first period of games this season, the Rivermen have out-shot their opponents 457-337, and out-scoring their foes 48-25, each representing the widest margin for any SPHL team in any period this season.

WHAT'S AHEAD

After tonight's game the Rivermen will have a weekend without games before returning to their home ice for a pair with the defending SPHL champion Knoxville Ice Bears February 26 & 27, then the Rivermen will host the Pensacola Ice Flyers March 4-6 for the first matchup between Peoria and Pensacola since the season's opening weekend. Following a trio of games against the Ice Flyers in Peoria, the Rivermen will return to the road for a pair of games March 11 & 12 in Huntsville, followed by a trio of games at Pensacola March 18-20.
