FORT WORTH, TX - The two-time defending CHL champion Memphis RiverKings pulled off a huge win on the road Saturday night, defeating the Fort Worth Brahmas 4-3 before 4,582 fans at the Fort Worth Convention Center.

RiverKings captain Don Parsons came up with two huge goals, including the game-winner in the third period off assists by forward Alexandre Mathieu and defenseman Derek Landmesser.

The RiverKings got a great performance out of goaltender Rick Nichol, making his first start of the season in professional hockey. Nichol, filling in for suspended goaltender Jean-Francois Racine, stopped 33 of 36 shots and picked up his first victory since the 2000-01 season.

The RiverKings won despite shooting the puck only fifteen times, beating Brahmas goaltender Erasmo Saltarelli four times. Also scoring goals for the RiverKings were forward Brent Ozarowski and Brian Tucker. Forward Trent Dickson and defenseman Stephen Margeson collected two assists apiece.

With the victory, the RiverKings improved their record to 24-15-1 on the season, tied for the lead in the Northeast Division with Bossier-Shreveport.

The Riverkings will be in action again this coming Thursday, as they host the Wichita Thunder at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven. Gametime is scheduled for 7:05 pm CST.
