RiverKings Lose Pair to ECHL Call-Ups

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- Mississippi RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser announced Monday that defenseman Steven Kaunisto has been loaned to the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL and forward Paul Lee has been loaned to the Trenton Titans, also of the ECHL.

Kaunisto, 26, appeared in 30 games with the RiverKings. The 6'0" 193 lbs. native of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. tallied four goals and 13 assists in his first season in the Mid-South.

"Kaunisto has been playing very good hockey this season and we're obviously very happy for him," said Landmesser. "This is a very well deserved call-up."

Lee, 23, appeared in in four games with the RiverKings this season. The 6'2" 205 lbs. native of Garden City, NY collected a goal and an assist in his rookie campaign with the 'Kings.

"We want to wish Paul all the best in Trenton," said Landmesser. "We thank him for his time in Southaven."
