Make Strides: The Mississippi Surge will help the American Cancer Society make strides against breast cancer on Sunday during the annual Pink in the Rink game. After visiting the Mississippi RiverKings Friday night and Pensacola Ice Flyers Saturday (both at 7:05 p.m.). Sunday, the Surge will host the Huntsville Havoc at 3:05.
Good Trip: The Surge took two out of three road games last week. After a 3-1 loss in Knoxville Friday, the Surge won two straight in Fayetteville, 5-2 Saturday and 3-2 in overtime Sunday.
Up For Bids: On Sunday, Surge players will wear special pink jerseys that will be auctioned after the game in the Camellia Ballroom of Beau Rivage Resort and Casino. A portion of the auction proceeds go to the American Cancer SocietyMaking Strides Against Breast Cancer. Pink in the rink is presented in cooperation with Beau Rivage and Garden Park Medical Center.
Tempers, Now: Sunday's game will be the first meeting between the Surge and Havoc since a bench fight erupted in Huntsville on Dec. 28th. That game featured 147 penalty minutes and several suspensions to both teams.
