RiverKings hand first-place San Angelo 5-1 defeat

SAN ANGELO—David Lemanowicz made 37 saves and five different RiverKings scored goals in their 5-1 win over San Angelo Tuesday night. Allan Carr, Tim Plett, Travis Banga, Don Parsons and Aaron Lewis provided the offense while Lemanowicz made it two solid performances in a row between the pipes for Memphis. Lemanowicz shut-out Laredo 8-0 on Saturday night.
The goals by Plett and Lewis were their first as RiverKings while Parsons matched last seasonÂ’s total with his 39th. The RiverKings are 5-3-1 in their last nine and are now 5-3-1 this season in games against the Southern Conference. Lemanowicz improved his record to 9-11-1 as the team moved to 18-22-2. The Saints, who had won six of seven coming in, fell to 22-15-3 and still lead the Southwest Division by a point over Lubbock.
Game two of MemphisÂ’ three-game Texas swing will be Friday night at Austin with the Ice Bats. Game time on Friday will be 7:35 and the game can be heard on 560AM, Sports 56-WHBQ.
