LAREDO, Texas – The Laredo Bucks dropped a pair of games over the weekend. Laredo lost 4-3 in Bossier-Shreveport on Friday, and then were beaten 8-0 on Saturday in Memphis. The 8-0 loss was the worst in Bucks franchise history. Laredo hosts Rio Grande Valley on Wednesday and again on Friday. The Bucks cap this three game week at the LEC against Corpus Christi on Saturday. HELP A FALLEN SOLDIER

· The Bucks will have a memorial game in honor of Juan Rodriguez on February 5th when they host the Corpus Christi Rayz. The Bucks will sell red, white and blue bracelets for $2 with all profits from the sale of the bracelets being donated to the Juan Rodrigo Rodriguez fund. Southern Sanitation will donate $250 for every Bucks goal during the game. The Bucks will also have a post-game auction on Saturday after the game to raise money. People can donate to the Juan Rodrigo Rodriguez fund, account number #51803452, at any LNB location in Laredo.

· RIO GRANDE VALLEY KILLER BEES · This is the eighth of 11 meetings this year between the teams and the fourth of five at the LEC. The Bucks lead the season series 4-3-0, and are 3-0-0 at home. Laredo picked up their first win of the season at the Dodge Arena by the score of 3-1 on 1/20. Rio Grande Valley beat the Bucks 3-2 on 1/8 at the Dodge Arena. The Bucks shutout the Killer Bees 1-0 on 12/31 at the LEC. Brent Cullaton had the only goal. The Killer Bees beat the Bucks 6-4 on 12/28 at the Dodge Arena. Joe Guenther had a hat trick in the Rio win. On 12/17 the teams engaged in a melee filled affair that the Bucks won 8-2 at the LEC. Laredo set a franchise record and tied a CHL record with seven power play goals in the win and Adam Paiement had a hat trick with all three goals coming on the power play. On 12/14 the Bucks beat the Killer Bees 5-2 at the LEC. Five different players scored goals for Laredo. The Killer Bees defeated the Bucks 5-3 on 10/29 at the Dodge Arena. Matic Kralj and Jason Tessier each had a pair of goals for RGV.

2003-04: The Bucks were 9-2-2 last year against Rio in the regular season, outscoring the Bees 50-29. The Bucks went 4-1-1 at the LEC and 5-1-1 at the Dodge Arena. Laredo swept the Killer Bees three games to none in the first round of the CHL playoffs, outscoring Rio 10-1.

· CORPUS CHRISTI RAYZ • This is the eighth of 12 meetings this year between the teams with Laredo leading the season series 4-3-0. The Bucks beat the Rayz 4-2 on 10/23 at the LEC in their home opener. Bucks forward Jeff Bes had a hat trick. On 11/05 the Rayz opened up the AmericanBank Center with three power play goals in a 6-4 win over Laredo. On 11/26 the Bucks jumped to a 3-0 lead and held on for a 5-3 victory at the LEC. Jeff Bes and Brent Cullaton each had a pair of goals. On 11/27 the Rayz registered their first ever win at the LEC, 3-2 over Laredo. On 12/18 the Bucks won 5-1 at Corpus Christi as five different players scored. The Bucks edged the Rayz 3-1 on 12/26 at the LEC as goalie Jeremy Symington stopped 37 of 38 shots. The Rayz came from behind to beat the Bucks 3-2 on 01/14 in Corpus. In the series the Bucks are 5-30 on the power play, while the Rayz are 6-44 this year.

2003-04: The Bucks were 11-2-0 against the Rayz last year, including 7-0-0 at home. The Bucks outscored the Rayz 38-14 in those seven home games. All-time Laredo is 25-7-0 against Corpus, including 16-1-0 at the LEC and outscoring them 89-39 on home ice.

· The Bucks will play either Rio Grande Valley or Corpus Christi in the next seven games. Feb 2nd & 4th vs RGV, Feb 5th, 8th, 11th vs COR, Feb 12th & 15th vs RGV.

TOUGH SCORING STRETCH

· In the last 12 games Laredo has scored just 26 goals, 2.17 goals per game.

BUCKS OUTSHOOTING

· Laredo has out shot 10 of the last 12 opponents. The only teams they did not out shoot during this stretch are Colorado on 01/15 (35-22) and BOS on 01/28 (28-17).

· The Bucks are 4-13-2 when they allow three goals or more.

GOOD GRIEF

· The Bucks were blasted 8-0 by Memphis last Saturday night. It was the worst loss in franchise history. The previous worst loss in franchise history also came in Memphis by the score of 7-3 on March 6th, 2003.

GOOD GRIEF PART DEUX

· The Bucks had killed off 24 of the last 26 penalties (92.3 %), until allowing five power play goals on Saturday in Memphis. The five power play goals allowed is a Bucks franchise record. The previous was three power play goals allowed, done eight times in franchise history.

GOOD GRIEF PART THREE

· The Bucks gave up a franchise record eight goals on Saturday night in Memphis. The previous most was seven on March 6th, 2003 also in Memphis. This season the Bucks had allowed six goals on 12/28 in a 6-4 loss at RGV. The Bucks also allowed six goals on 11/05 in a 6-4 loss at COR.

· 01/29/05 – SATURDAY – The defending CHL Champion Laredo Bucks suffered the worst loss in franchise history as the Memphis RiverKings beat them 8-0 at the DeSoto Civic Center in front of 3,815 fans. The previous worst loss in franchise history also came in Memphis by the score of 7-3 on March 6th, 2003. The RiverKings scored five power play goals in route to the victory. The Bucks are now 18-17-2 with 38 points and remain in third place in the Southeast Division. Memphis goalie David Lemanowicz stopped all 31 shots to pitch the shutout and improve to 8-11-0. Jeremy Symington gave up eight goals on 25 shots in 48:19 of work to take the loss and drop to 11-7-1. David Guerrera finished up in net by stopping both shots he faced. The Bucks were 0-5 on the power play, while Memphis was 5-11. The five power play goals against also set a franchise record for most power play goals allowed in a game. The previous record was three power play goals allowed in a game.

· 01/28/05 – FRIDAY – The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs got the game winning goal from forward Dan Wildfong with 20.6 seconds to play in the game to knock off the defending CHL Champion Laredo Bucks 4-3 at the CenturyTel Center in front of 12,430 fans. Bossier scored three third period goals to rally for the win. Laredo is now 18-16-2 with 38 points and remains in third in the Southeast Division. Ken Carroll stopped 14 of 17 shots to get the win and improve to 16-5-1. David Guerrera allowed four goals on 28 shots to fall to 7-10-1.
