RiverKings fans get the chance to meet, greet and eat with favorite players on Jan. 25

COMO—RiverKings fans and sports buffs will get a unique opportunity to meet an NHL-level player, plus the chance to speak with their favorite RiverKings team members during the team "Sign & Dine" appearance at Windy City Grille in Como on Jan. 25 at 7 p.m.

Those players include defenseman Ted Crowley (from Concord, Mass.), 1994 Lillehammer Olympian, who has played for the Colorado Avalanche, Hartford Whalers and New York Islanders. He has also played in the IHL and the DEL (Germany's top hockey league), most recently with the Kassel Huskies.

RiverKings team captain Don Parsons (from Boston), who recently scored his 1,000th point, will be leading the group. Parsons is the 48th player in minor-league professional hockey to reach that milestone. He is fifth among active players to do so and only the third American-born player in minor-league hockey to reach that goal. Parsons is a two-time League M.V.P., former play-off M.V.P., All-Star Player and last year's C.H.L. Man of the Year.

There are also two more players in what is becoming the New England connection, Phil Aucoin, an up-and-coming rookie from Boston who is currently the number one rookie scorer in the League, and recent addition Joe Lovell from Norwood, Mass.

Four-time CHL All-Star Derek Landmesser will also be there, as well as the rest of the RiverKings squad.

While your autograph book will be filling up on signatures, your stomach can fill up on great food. Windy City Grille offers the best in Chicago-style cuisine, from deep fried portabella mushrooms to jalapenÞo poppers for appetizers; for the main course, you can choose from a wide range of signature pizzas, Windy City Grille Calzone or Chicago-Style deep or thin crust pizza, and pasta dishes. There are plenty of signature dishes like the "Al Capone" (Juicy Italian Beef piled high on an Italian roll, topped with mozzarella and served with a side of au jus) or the "Fugedaboudit" meatball sandwich, as well as salads (consider the Wrigley Field Salad: romaine lettuce with fried chicken fingers, cran-raisins, mandarin orange sections, bleu cheese crumbles, chopped walnuts, grape tomatoes with tangy vinaigrette dressing).

Windy City Grille is close to home, too: just 30 miles from Southaven and Olive Branch, Mississippi; 40 miles from Oxford and 17 from Batesville.
