SOUTHAVEN --- Five different players scored goals and Michael Dilorenzo made 38 saves as the Memphis RiverKings stayed perfect against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees with a 5-1 win Sunday evening at the DeSoto Civic Center. The RiverKings took two of three for the weekend and climbed back to within eight points of Bossier-Shreveport in the Northeast Division.

Memphis took a lead they would never give up at 10:27 of the first period. Travis Banga wrapped the puck around the net just past the left skate of Killer Bee netminder and all-star Evan Lindsay for his team leading 16th goal of the season. Ryan Watson, who assisted on Banga's goal, teamed up with Banga 4:27 later as the two executed a perfect two on one to beat Lindsay. The goal for Watson was his 13th of the season and it gave the RiverKings a 2-0 lead after one.

Rio Grande Valley's only goal of the game came on the power play 4:06 into the second frame and cut the lead in half. It would be the closest that the number three team in the Southern Conference would get as Tim Plett scored his first of the season in the final minute of the second to make the lead 3-1. Darrell Stoddard and Rob Oiumette added goals in the third to make the final 5-1.

Dilorenzo started his second straight game in net for Memphis and put together his third straight solid performance. Friday night, he came in midway through the game and kept Tulsa off the board on 15 shots to allow his team to rally for the win. On Saturday night, he stopped 25 of 26 shots in a tough-luck 1-0 loss at Bossier-Shreveport. Sunday night on home ice, he steered away 38 of 39 to improve to 6-2-1 on the season. The victory improved the RiverKings' season record to 15-19-1 and moved their all-time record with Rio Grande Valley to 6-0-0. The two teams will meet again at the Dodge Arena in Hidalgo on February 25 and March 18.

Memphis hits the road for seven straight beginning this Friday versus the Oilers in Tulsa at 7:35.
