Cotton Kings Sunday Night Contest with Amarillo Postponed

January 22, 2006 - Central Hockey League (CHL) - Lubbock Cotton Kings News Release

LUBBOCK, TX: January 22, 2006 - The Lubbock Cotton Kings were originally scheduled to play the Amarillo Gorillas Sunday night as part of the Interstate Batteries I-27 Series, but the contest was postponed prior to the 5PM face-off at the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum due to unplayable rink conditions.

Prior events over the weekend prevented the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum staff from adequately transforming the arena back to its ice hockey form in time for the contest, and arena, team and league staff members agreed the best decision was to postpone the contest and reschedule the game for another date. The rescheduled date is unknown at this time, but an announcement will be made early this week as to when the game will be played.

The Lubbock Cotton Kings apologizes to those in attendance and for those that made the trip from Amarillo, but the Cotton Kings feel the best decision was made towards a situation beyond their control. Ticket holders for the event may redeem their ticket stub at the Cotton Kings offices (1309 University) to use for any future Cotton Kings contest. Any special requests or questions concerning ticket exchanges may be made by contacting the Cotton Kings offices at (806) 747-7825.

The Cotton Kings next home game is scheduled for Friday at 7:05 pm at the Lubbock Municipal Coliseum, as they welcome the Oklahoma City Blazers. The organization does not foresee any conflicts with the scheduled event. Individual game ticket information is available by contacting the Cotton Kings office at (806) 747-7825.
