On the back end of the penalty, Stastny stuffed in a rebound of his own shot for his 23rd of the season and a 2-0 lead at 9:33. Stastny has now connected for goals in three straight games.
In the second period the âKings extended their lead when Aitken connected for his 6th goal as he deflected a Jay Neal shot at 4:21 to make it 3-0 Memphis.
The Bats spoiled Mark Richards shutout bid when Gerald Tallaire tallied his 25th of the season off a sharp angle rebound shot at 6:19 on the power play in the third period. FINAL SCORE Memphis 3, Austin 1.
Richards 15 saves improved his record to 17-12-1. Peter Brady, getting the start in place of the CHL's Goaltender of the Year Matt Barnes, faced 31 shots from the âKings and turned aside 28 to take the loss and drop to 13-4-0. The âKings finished 2-4 on the power play while Austin went 1-2.
