SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- Mississippi RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser announced Friday that the team has signed forward Tomas Busek and defenseman Hunter Syrydiuk to contracts. Terms and conditions were not released.
Busek, 21, played his junior hockey with the San Diego Gulls of the Western States Hockey League. The 6'3", 187 lbs. native of Beroun, Czech Republic tallied 44 points (18G, 26A) in 46 games with the Gulls last season.
Syrydiuk, 24, completed his senior season at SUNY-Potsdam in May of 2012. The 6'6", 212 lbs. native of Toronto, Ont. played in 53 games and recorded three goals and six assists.
The RiverKings hit the ice on Friday, January 25 in Huntsville against the Havoc at 7:30 p.m. with all the action airing live on Sports 56, 87.7 FM and the America One Sports Network. The 'Kings return home the next night for Belhaven University Pack the House Night. Tickets for the game are $5 off with $4 of every ticket going to the United Way of the Mid-South.
