
'Hawks Claim Victory Over Ice Bears, 3-2

Knoxville, TN--The Augusta RiverHawks gutted out a close 3-2 win against the Knoxville Ice Bears.
Neither team gained more than a one-goal lead, and Casey Mignone's goal in the third period proved to be the difference maker.
Augusta was led by Mignone, who tallied one goal. Mignone scored 14:37 into the third period to make the score 3-2 Augusta. Matt Auffrey picked up the assist.
The RiverHawks excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. With 30 shots on target during the contest, Augusta exceeded the 17.6 shots it averages per game this year.
Augusta also got a goal from Jason Price as well. In addition, Augusta received assists from Drew Baker, Dennis Sicard, Taylor Larsen, Alex Morton, and Marcus Pryde, who each chipped in one.
Knoxville was led by Dan Bremner, who finished with one goal and one assist. Bremner scored 12:27 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Nate Peterson provided the assist. Peter Nealalso scored for Knoxville. More assists for Knoxville came via Shaun Arvai and Tyler Fernandez, who contributed one a piece.
Robby Moss made 27 saves for the RiverHawks on 29 shots. Augusta incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Peter Skoggard rejected 27 shots on goal for the Ice Bears. Knoxville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
The RiverHawks will be on the road until February 16. Their next contest is coming up on January 29 as the Team travels to Fayetteville to take on the FireAntz. Fans can watch the road games live at Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta.
