
RiverKings Activate McWhinney; Marcuz Signs Tryout

SOUTHAVEN, Miss. -- Mississippi RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Derek Landmesser announced that the team has activated goaltender Dan McWhinney from the 30-day Injured Reserve. The team also signed forward Ryan Marcuz to a three-game tryout contract.
McWhinney, 28, appeared in 19 games this season prior to suffering an injury. The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. native posted an 11-8-0 record with a 2.32 goals against average and a 93.0 save percentage.
Marcuz, 24, joins the RiverKings after a three-year career at State University of New York at Morrisville. The 6-foot-0, 205-pound forward posted 24 points (9G, 15A) in 24 games in his final season at Morrisville.
The RiverKings hit the ice tonight to take on the Knoxville Ice Bears at 7:05 p.m. for "$2 Tuesday." Fans can enjoy $2 off all 16 oz. draft beers and $2 hot dogs, popcorn and 24 oz. fountain drinks.
