Riverhounds Host Rochester Rhinos on 4th of July at Highmark

PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Riverhounds play host to the Rochester Rhinos on July 4 at 7:00PM at Highmark Stadium.

The Fourth of July holiday match is the third, and final meeting between the two teams, as they have traded wins on the road.

Rochester won in their first encounter at Highmark Stadium on May 17, 1-0, thanks to Alex Dixon's goal in the 41 st minute.

The Riverhounds returned the favor in historic fashion. On June 7, the Hounds stunned the Rhinos, 3-2, earning not only their first win of the season, but their first-ever victory at Sahlen's Stadium after 19 tries.

Despite an early 1-0 deficit, and being outshot 14-4, the Riverhounds beat Rochester by taking advantage of set piece opportunities and a few fortunate bounces to win their first league match of the year.

Brian Fekete and Rob Vincent headed in two perfectly placed corner kicks delivered by Danny Earls, and a late goal by Jose Angulo proved to be the difference for the Riverhounds, earning an important three points against their regional rivals.

The Riverhounds are coming off their second win of the year, a 2-1 win over Dayton on Wednesday, in which Mike Green scored two second half goals to lead a come-from-behind victory.

With a win on Friday, the Riverhounds (2-8-5, 11 points) can make a move out of the bottom of the USL PRO table, as they currently trail both Harrisburg City Islanders and Arizona United SC (13 points) by two points.

Rochester (6-5-6) is currently tied for fifth place in the USL PRO standings with the Orange County Blues.

PARKING UPDATE: All fans must show July 4 game tickets for entry to West Lot. A Will Call ticket list will be at the gate.
