LA Galaxy II Host Arizona United SC at StubHub Center on Friday

CARSON, Calif. (Thursday, July 3, 2014) - LA Galaxy II (8-5-4, 28 points) will host Arizona United SC (4-8-3, 13 points) on Friday, July 4 in USL PRO Week 16 action at StubHub Center's Field 3 at 4:00 p.m. PT.

The Galaxy II - Arizona United game will serve as part of a double header with the LA Galaxy's match against the Portland Timbers at 8:00 p.m. PT at StubHub Center's main stadium.

The match is the third time that Los Dos will go up against Arizona United SC in USL PRO play as Curt Onalfo's squad will look to return to winning ways after falling 3-0 to Orlando City SC (13-0-3, 42 points) at ESPN Wide World of Sports on Saturday, June 28.

Led by head coach Michael Dellorusso, Arizona United, who currently sit in 13th place in the USL PRO standings, enter the match after falling 3-2 to the Orange County Blues last Saturday at the Peoria Sports Complex. Arizona United SC took a two goal advantage in the first half on goals from Jon Okafor in the 19th minute and Kadeem Dacres in the 36th minute, but three unanswered goals, including a stoppage time winner in the 94th minute from the Blues propelled the visitors to a 3-2 victory.

In the most recent meeting between LA Galaxy II and Arizona United, Los Dos earned a 1-1 draw against Arizona at the Peoria Sports Complex on June 21 as Galaxy II forward Travis Bowen opened the scoring for Los Dos at the 17th minute of the game. Arizona tied the game in the 54th minute, as defender Scott Morrison curled a free kick around the LA Galaxy II wall, and into the far post for the equalizer and his first goal of the season.

In their first encounter earlier this year, LA Galaxy Homegrown Player Raul Mendiola scored his first professional goal as LA Galaxy II drew Arizona United 1-1 at the Peoria Sports Complex on April 25.

After the clash against Arizona, Los Dos will then host the Real Salt Lake Reserves on Sunday, July 13 at 3:00 p.m. PT at StubHub Center's Track & Field Stadium.
