West-Coast Clash Highlights Holiday Schedule

TAMPA, Fla. - A place in USL PRO's top four will be on the line on the Fourth of July as Sacramento Republic FC hosts the Orange County Blues FC at Bonney Field this Friday night in the standout game of the league's holiday weekend schedule.

Sacramento has boasted strong home performances in front of big crowds in its inaugural season, and enters Friday night's game undefeated in its last five home games, including back-to-back wins at Bonney Field. The Blues, meanwhile, are on a major run of form that has seen them take five wins in their past six games and move within two points of Republic FC in fifth position in the league standings. With both sides having taken victory on their home turf in the side's previous two meetings this season, Friday night's game should be another captivating contest in the battle for playoff position.

The three-day weekend gets underway earlier on Friday night as the LA Galaxy II host Arizona United SC at the StubHub Center at 7 p.m. ET as part of a doubleheader with their MLS side's contest with the Portland Timbers later that night. A strong regional rivalry is also on the slate as the Pittsburgh Riverhounds host the Rochester Rhinos at Highmark Stadium, with both teams having taken victory on the road in their previous two meetings this season.

Saturday's slate includes a key contest between the Harrisburg City Islanders and Charleston Battery at Skyline Sports Complex, with both sides eager for maximum points as they try to get back into the playoff picture. The Charlotte Eagles also host the Dayton Dutch Lions at the Queens Sports Complex having taken seven points from their past three games to get within a point of the eighth and final playoff berth.

The weekend concludes on Sunday as the Richmond Kickers host the Real Salt Lake Reserves in a marquee interleague contest at City Stadium. The Kickers are on a 25-game regular season undefeated streak at City Stadium, and will hope to take home all three points to cut into Orlando City's lead at the top of the USL PRO standings.
