Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release
Pittsburgh, PA-This Saturday, the Riverhounds will play their final home game of the regular season at Chartiers Valley Stadium against the Charlotte Eagles. The Eagles traveled north for back-to-back games this weekend, matching up with the Rochester Rhinos tonight and then with the Riverhounds tomorrow night.
The two Clubs met in late June at Charlotte Christian Stadium, with the Eagles recording a 2-0 victory. Two first half goals from Sallieu Bundu were all the Eagles needed to capture three points from the Riverhounds.
Since the loss to the Eagles, the Riverhounds have put together a winning streak, by compiling a 5-1-2 record in their last eight games. This winning streak has lifted the Riverhounds into sole possession of fourth place in the USL PRO National Division.
With less than two weeks remaining in the 2011 USL PRO season, both Clubs are looking to secure their place in the post-season. The Riverhounds are in need of only one point to earn a ticket into the playoffs as the fourth seed in the National Division, while the Eagles sit three points behind the Charleston Battery for fourth place in the American Division.
Tomorrow night's matchup between the Eagles and Riverhounds will have a playoff-like atmosphere for the entire ninety minutes. The side that wins the individual battles on the field should walk away with the win and secure their position in the post-season.
