Riverhawks take air out of Ballers

Davenport - The Quad Cities Riverhawks (15-5) Professional Basketball team got off to a fast start and kept up the pace throughout the entire game. Seven people ended the game in double figures for the Riverhawks. The Twin City Ballers (4-15) could not keep up with the Riverhawks who defeated them 151-105.

The Ballers got as close as 5 points in the second quarter behind Shohn Williams 10 points. Ryan Edwards led the Riverhawks in the first half with 18 points. The score at half was Riverhawks 72 Ballers 51.

The Riverhawks put on a show in the second half. Tony Weeden led the Riverhawks in the second half scoring 14 of his game total 20 points. Cory Minnifield led the Riverhawks with 23 points, Ryan Edwards chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds. New arrival Coleco Buie had a double-double with 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Fellow new arrival Marlon Parmer scored 16 points and dished out 14 assists. Shohn Williams and Barry Bradford led the Ballers with 11 points each.

The Riverhawks next home game is Friday, January 12 against the Peoria Kings as they come to town to battle for the traveling trophy in the "War on 74" at 7:05pm.
