The Rockford (11-12) bats heated up early in the evening humidity. Rain threatened but could not change the outcome. In the second inning, Tony Pigott and Jan Ramos began the RiverHawks' scoring, hitting back-to-back, two-out doubles. In the fourth, Ben Fjelland hit his second home run of the season. Rockford added another run in the fifth and delivered the final blow with a four-run seventh.

Dave Berstine delivered a 340-foot shot over the left-field wall to seal the victory. Berstine went 2-for-3 on the evening including a double down the left-field line. Frank James (3-0) picked up the victory pitching seven solid innings. Justin Olson finished off the Kings (8-14) by striking out seven batters in two innings of work.

The RiverHawks will continue the six-game homestand tomorrow versus the Washington WildThings at 7:05p.m. Join the RiverHawks, Miller and Q98.5 for 98¢-beer night. For tickets give the RiverHawks office a call at 964-BALL.

Midwest Championship Wrestling will be at Marinelli Field on July 12. The action starts at 7:00 p.m., with gates opening at 6:00. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased by calling the RiverHawks at 964-BALL.

The Rockford RiverHawks are hosting a Los Lobos concert in the Marinelli Field parking lot on Sunday, July 27. Gates open at 12:00 p.m. and the concert begins at 1:00 p.m. People who have tickets to the concert will get into the game for free and concessions will be open.
