LOVES PARK, Ill. - The RiverHawks announced today that they have re-signed pitcher Dane Towery and added pitcher James Cramphin to the roster.
Towery, a former Boston farmhand, retired after last season, when he went 5-8 with a 4.28 ERA in 19 appearances for the RiverHawks.
Cramphin is a true rookie out of Brown University. He was 6-4 with a 4.80 ERA in 13 starts for the Bears. He struck out 86 and walked 42 in 80 2/3 innings.
Pitcher Matthew Mehne was released. Mehne was 0-1 with a 6.75 ERA in six appearances.
The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 15th season.
