LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford RiverHawks have released first baseman Randall Simon
Simon was put on the disabled list Thursday with a strained quadriceps muscle. He left the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader in the fifth inning after he stole second base. Simon hit .250 with seven home runs and 19 RBI in 27 games.
The RiverHawks are members of the Northern League, an eight-team independent professional baseball league that will play its 18th season this summer.
