Rockford RiverHawks News Release
O'Fallon, MO-After a strong six inning performance in the extra inning game against Kenosha, RiverHawks manager Bob Koopmann thought Josh Latimer would be a great addition to the starting rotation. However, in his first official start, Latimer got rocked for five runs in the first inning, and two runs in the second, as the RiverHawks lost to the Rascals, 12-4.
River City capped off their scoring in the bottom of the sixth, when Justin Christian hit his first professional home run, to put the icing on the cake for the Rascals. Latimer picks up the loss for Rockford, and is now 2-2, having lost his last two decisions. E. J. Laratta earned the victory for River City, and is now 5-3.
Rockford and River City finish their three game series at T.R. Hughes Ballpark on Monday night. Then, the âHawks go across the state border to Sauget, IL, to face the Gateway Grizzlies in a three game series starting Tuesday. Game time for Monday is 7:05, with the pre-game show starting at 6:50 on 1! 02.3 FM-The Hub, and on the internet at www.rockfordriverhawks.com.
