
Richmond Tops Kalamazoo

On Sunday August 24, the Kings hosted the Richmond Roosters in the second game of there three game series. Jason Biddlestone got the start for the Kings and struggled through five. Prior to this start, Biddlestone had not won his last three starts against Richmond and did not win this one falling to 2-7. He allowed a season high seven walks, as well as six runs on seven hits.
Richmond got out to an early three run lead. Kings soon came back and took the lead in the end of the fifth. Kings First baseman, Steve Hindman, collected his sixth homerun to help the Kings get on the board in the fourth. Richmond secured the win in the sixth as Drew Miller belted a three-run triple off of Brian Ferdinand. Miller had all the offense Richmond needed as his totals included seven RBI's, including four of them coming from his grand slam homerun in the eighth inning. Richmond's Chad Sosebee earned his first win of the season and improved his record to 1-1. Kings other highlights included Sam Flamont and he recorded three hits as well as an RBI.
