Rockford RiverHawks News Release

LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Rockford RiverHawks have signed Jay Bresnahan, a rookie infielder.

Bresnahan, a rookie out of Minnesota State Mankato, hit .366 in his collegiate career. He led the team with a .380 batting average and played in all 55 games his senior season. Bresnahan last played for the Robins Aviators of the Peach State League, an amateur circuit. In 36 games with Robins, Bresnahan hit .343 with one home run and 25 RBI.

Bresnahan will not join the team until Thursday, when the RiverHawks return home from a series in Winnipeg. To make room on the roster, the RiverHawks have released outfielder Casey Raisbeck. Raisbeck was signed last Thursday, when Pat O'Sullivan was put on the inactive list. Raisbeck did not see any action with the RiverHawks.

The RiverHawks host the Kansas City T-Bones Thursday, a 2nd Cousins Bar and Grill and Miller Lite dollar beer night to kick off the final homestand of 2010.
