
Riverdragons' Erron Maxey Named To 2004 All-NBDL Team

COLUMBUS, Ga., March 31 â The Columbus Riverdragons of the National Basketball Development League announced today that guard/forward Erron Maxey has been named to the 2004 All-NBDL Team. The panel of voters, made up of NBDL coaches, selected Maxey as an Honorable Mention pick.
Maxey, a 6-6, 220-pound, swingman out of Providence College ('01) leads Columbus in total points (544) and ranks second on the club in scoring average (13.0) and minutes (1286). The third year pro out of Lake Elsinore, Ca. has led the Riverdragons in scoring eleven times, scored 20+ points on ten occasions, and leads Columbus in double-figure scoring games with a total of 30 in the Dragons first 42 games overall.
Maxey posted a season-high 26 points on 11-19 shooting versus Charleston on January 6 at the Columbus Civic Center, then tallied 25 points at Charleston on March 12 in a 113-97 Riverdragons victory at the North Charleston Coliseum. Maxey posted a rebounding high of eleven twice; December 5 at Fayetteville and January 4 versus Charleston.
Maxey is the Riverdragons lone player named to the 2004 All-NBDL Team, and the club's fifth player all-time to be selected. Columbus has an all-time total of six different selections to the All-NBDL Team. The previous Columbus selections were: Tremaine Fowlkes (First-Team--2002), Tang Hamilton (First Teamâ2003), Nate Johnson (Second Teamâ2003; Honorable Mention--2002), and Gabe Muoneke (Honorable Mentionâ2002).
The Riverdragons host the Roanoke Dazzle this Friday at 7 p.m. at the Columbus Civic Center. Columbus looks to keep its playoff hopes alive against the team which currently holds fourth place and the final spot in the 2004 NBDL-Delta Airlines Postseason Classic. It will be Riverdragons Rally Towel Giveaway Night, with the first 500 fans receiving a free rally towel upon entering the Civic Center.
