
Columbus Claims Rawlings, Waives Harrington

GREENVILLE, S.C., March 31 â The Columbus Riverdragons have claimed forward Reed Rawlings from the National Basketball Development League available player pool, according to an announcement by league director of basketball operations Chris Alpert and Columbus coach Jeff Malone. Rawlings takes the roster spot of guard Adam Harrington, who was waived to rehabilitate an injury.
Rawlings, 6-7 and 215-pounds, played briefly for the Asheville Altitude earlier this season. The Samford (Ala.) University ('00) product was signed by Asheville March 1 and played in seven games before being waived on March 15. He averaged 19.1 minutes, 9.3 points and 1.4 rebounds.
Harrington played in 17 games (nine starts) for Columbus, averaging 26.4 minutes, 11.2 points and 1.7 rebounds.
Rawlings is expected to play when the Riverdragons host the Roanoke Dazzle Friday at the Columbus Civic Center.
