March 22, 2006 vs. Roanoke Valley (W 5-2)

The Richmond RiverDogs dominated the contest from start to finish. Mike Owens got his first professional goal at 7:50 of the first period. Brian Goudie scored a pair and added an assist while Joey Bastien contributed on the scoresheet with four assists. The RiverDogs were deadly on the power play, notching three out of seven. Mike D'Alessandro stopped 25 of 27 Viper shots. Attendance: 1,869.

March 24, 2006 vs. Roanoke Valley (W 4-2)

The RiverDogs trailed in the contest 2-0 on goals from John Osborne and Mike Wiggins until the RiverDogs scored four straight enroute to a 4-2 victory over their arch rival Roanoke Valley. Four different RiverDogs scored, including rookie Joe Pace, who notched his first as a member of the RiverDogs. Others who tallied for Richmond includes Bobby Kukulka, Todd Grant and an empty netter from John DiPace. The game was tied for most of the contest until Grant tabulated with a power play goal with only 32 seconds remaining in regulation. Mike D'Alessandro was between the pipes for the RiverDogs, stopping 27 of 29 shots. Attendance: 3,412.

March 25, 2006 vs. Adirondack (L 4-0)

Ryan Bennett's goal and two assists and a goal and assist from Mark Hurtubise, combined with a 21 save performance from netminder Kris Tebbs led Adirondack to a 4-0 shutout over the Richmond RiverDogs. Mike D'Alessandro was in net for the RiverDogs as Mike stopped 22 of 26 shots. Attendance: 6,906.

March 26, 2006 @ Adirondack (L 6-1)

The RiverDogs boarded the bus and traveled to face the Frostbite. Todd Grant got the RiverDogs on the board with a power play goal at 8:52 in the 1st period, with assists from Brian Goudie and Bobby Kukulka. However, Sylvain Cloutier scored less than a minute later which would lead into a six goal run for the Frostbite as Adirondack defeats Richmond for the second time in two nights. Attendance: 2,002.

THE WEEK AHEAD: The RiverDogs return home Wednesday, March 29th as the team plays host to the Roanoke Valley Vipers at the Coliseum starting 7:05 pm. This will be the final time the Vipers will play in Richmond this season. The Vipers and RiverDogs will do battle one last time in Roanoke on Wednesday, April 12, which is a rescheduled contest stemming from ice problems when the RiverDogs traveled to the Civic Center in early November. Right after Wednesday's contest, the RiverDogs board the bus and travel to Michigan to play the Motor City Mechanics on Friday, March 31st, and the Port Huron Flags on Saturday, April 1st. Both contests start at 7:30 pm.

RIVERDOGS PLAYOFF PICTURE: With a record of 32-27-6, 70 points, the RiverDogs still reside in 9th place in the overall UHL standings. The Quad City Mallards are in 8th place with 74 points, however the RiverDogs have played two fewer games. The Motor City Mechanics are the 7th place team and they have 80 points. Again, the RiverDogs have played three fewer games than Motor City. The RiverDogs have one road contest remaining with both teams, Motor City this Friday night and Quad City on Friday, April 14th.
