Richmond, VA - The Richmond RiverDogs of the United Hockey League have waived the rights to defenseman Paul Johnson and suspended RW Jason Bone. The ‘Dogs active roster now stands at 18.

Johnson spent last season with the RiverDogs. He has not played this season. Bone is leaving the ‘Dogs to join Winston-Salem of the Southern Professional Hockey League. Bone played in 12 games with the ‘Dogs and had no points and 54 PIM.

"Jason wants and needs ice time," said ‘Dogs head coach Donny Martin. "His job was to stir things up but he had a tough time finding willing dance partners. We expect he'll jump back in with us at some point this season," Martin added.

The RiverDogs are home Friday and Sunday this week. The ‘Dogs host Danbury Friday at 7:35. It is Teddy Bear Toss night. Fans are encouraged to bring stuffed toys to the game and throw them on the ice following the ‘Dogs first goal. The stuffed toys will be collected and donated to local children. It is also T-shirt Night compliments of Old Glory. All fans in attendance will receive a free t-shirt. The ‘Dogs are also home Sunday vs. Kalamazoo at 5:05.
