Kansas City Outlaws News Release

(Kansas City, MO --- December 1, 2004) – The Outlaws began their stand of nine consecutive home games at Kemper Arena with a 7-3 loss to the Muskegon Fury. A game that saw multiple fights, plenty of scoring and up and down hockey, the Outlaws drop their overall record to 7-13-1 in front of 1,407.

Muskegon nailed in the games first three goals in the first period followed by the Outlaws response that tied the game up at three with 18:34 left in the second period. Kansas City came out firing in the second period and connected on a goal from newly acquired Vaclav Zavoral, assisted by Mark Lee and Bill Zalba. The goal cut the Fury lead to one (3-2). In all, the Outlaws outplayed the Fury for the first fifteen minutes of the second period.

Each team played defensive after the goal by Zavoral until Mark Lee tied up the match at 3-3 with a goal at 15:18 in the second, assisted by Jimmy Calhoun and Bill Zalba. The coach must have lit a fire under the Fury after the tying goal was scored. Muskegon scored three straight goals in less then four minutes. Including a goal with one second on the clock to end the period and established a 6-3 lead.

The Outlaws were out shot 18-6 in the second period. Mike Buckley's return to the line-up looked a little shaky after being out with a concussion since the Nov. 7 game vs. the Flint Generals. Buckley left tonight's game 9:18 through the first period and was replaced by the regular starter Maxime Gingras.

At the end of a frustrating night, Marc-Andre Roy and George Davis of the Outlaws dropped the gloves with Fury players within the minutes of the end of the game.

The Outlaws take on the Missouri River Otters at Kemper Arena on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
