
RiverDogs lose shootout 4-3

RICHMOND, VA - A pair of goals from Adirondack's Mike Perry and Bob Rapoza in the final minutes to tie the game at 3-3 and went perfect in the shootout to hand the Richmond RiverDogs a 4-3 shootout loss in front of a crowd of 1, 733 at the Richmond Coliseum. The RiverDog's record is now 2-6-1 for 5 points in the standings while Adirondack raises their record to 9-2-0.
The RiverDogs had complete control of the game from the start with goals coming from Mike Oliveira, J.J. Wrobel and David Brosseau. Defensivly the RiverDogs had their best game of the season allowing only 30 shots to get to netminder Doug Groenestege, who was making his first appearance since his 2-1 loss to Roanoke Valley on October 27. Getting goals for Adirondack was David Ambler, Mike Perry and Bob Rapoza, with the final two coming 0:38 seconds apart. In the shootout, Adirondack was a perfect 4 for 4 while the lone shootout tally for the Dogs came from the stick of Mike Oliveira.
Adirondack and Richmond will meet again two more times this week with the contests being in Glen Falls, NY, Wednesday, November 16 and Friday, November 18. The RiverDogs return home to play a pair against the Elmira Jackals on Saturday, November 19 at 7:35 pm and Sunday, November 20 at 4:05 pm.
