TONIGHT’S MATCHUP: The ninth of 17 meetings and the fourth of eight in Richmond. ‘The ‘Dogs are 5-3 vs. Elmira, 2-1 vs. the Jackals at home. Jonathan Gagnon has eight points vs. the Jackals. Greg Koehler has 14 points vs. the ‘Dogs. The ‘Dogs are third in the Eastern Division, seven points back of Adirondack. The Jackals are fourth in the East, one point behind the ‘Dogs.

LAST ACTION: Richmond beat Elmira 4-2 at First Arena Last night. The ‘Dogs fell behind 2-0 in the first period on a pair of Jason Sessa goals. The ‘Dogs bounced back on goals by Kyle Sheen and David Brosseau. Jonathan Gagnon scored the game-winner early in the third period. Francis Belanger put it away with an empty net goal.

’DOG BITES: The RiverDogs and Kansas City Outlaws made an eight player trade today. The ‘Dogs acquired forward Bill Zalba, defensemen Simo Pulkki and Mike Dombkiewicz, the UHL rights to Mike Lankshear, and the Outlaws second round pick in the North American Draft in exchange for defensemen Dan Rohanna, Jami Yoder, and Matt Suderman, and the UHL rights to Jay Murphy. The ‘Dogs have re-signed defenseman Anthony DiPalma. The 'Dogs wound up 3-3-1 on a seven game road trip. Richmond snapped a three game loosing streak last night. Ryan Prentice has points in seven straight games. Richmond has been out-scored by 15 in the second period this season. The 'Dogs are 2 for their last 21 on the power play. Trevor Senn is second in the UHL in penalty minutes and is tied for second in majors. Ryan Prentice leads the league in shooting percentage. Kyle Sheen is second amongst UHL rookies in penalty minutes. Sheen and Mark Langdon are tied for the league lead in game winning goals by a rookie. Richmond has won four of their last five home games. They have beaten the Jackals four straight times.

JACKALS NOTES: Elmira has two of the leagueÂ’s three 20 goal scorers: league leader Greg Koehler and Jason Sessa. Koehler and Corey Foster missed last nightÂ’s game with injuries. The Jackals are 13-47 on the power play vs. Richmond (27.7%). Koehler leads the league in points. Sessa is seventh. Goaltender Greg Hewitt leads the UHL in minutes played and saves.
