Kansas City Outlaws News Release
(Kansas City, MO --- December 23, 2004) â The Kansas City Outlaws General Manager Joe Bucchino announced today that the Outlaws have completed an 8-player trade with the Richmond RiverDogs.
The Outlaws receive defensemen Jami Yoder, Dan Rohanna, and Matt Suderman from Richmond. Kansas City also acquires the rights to veteran scorer Jay Murphy. Murphy, who led Richmond in scoring last season with 77 points (37 G, 40 A) and has amassed 315 career goals as a professional, has missed the early part of this season for personal reasons.
In return, the Outlaws will send forward Bill Zalba and defensemen Mike Dombkiewicz and Simo Pulkki to Richmond. The RiverDogs also receive the rights to defenseman Mike Lankshear, who is currently on the Voluntary Suspension List because of family matters but is expected to return before season's end.
Jay Murphy brings over 10 years of professional hockey experience to the Outlaws. Murphy guided Richmond to first place in the Eastern Conference last season. As the leading points scorer for Richmond, his 77 points ranked 14th in the entire UHL. Murphy also ranked third in the league in shots with 318.
The Outlaws begin a six-game road trip Sunday, December 26 at Missouri at 1:05 p.m. They return home January 5 at 7 p.m. to face the Fort Wayne Komets.
Mini-game packages are still available for the Outlaws at (816) 268-1600. For group information call 816-513-4031 or (816) 268-1600.
