Binghamton Rumble Ponies News Release

BINGHAMTON, NY - The Binghamton Mets got an RBI single from T.J. Rivera in the bottom of the eighth inning to top the Bowie Baysox, 2-1, on Saturday night at NYSEG Stadium. Rivera went 4-for-4 with an RBI in the win. It's his second four-hit game of the season.

For the third time in this series, Bowie got on the board first. David Adams led off the second inning with a single against Rainy Lara. He moved up a bag on a single by Garabez Rosa. Two batters later, Sharlon Schoop tallied a base knock to give the road team a 1-0 lead.

Binghamton was shutout until the sixth inning against Anthony Vasquez. That's when Burgamy singled with one out. He advanced to second base on a single by Rivera. Darrell Ceciliani came through with a bloop hit to left field to plate Burgamy and tie the game at one.

The B-Mets broke the tie in the eighth against Steven Hensley. Herrera walked and made it to third on a base knock by Jayce Boyd. Rivera laced a single up the middle of the infield to bring home Herrera and put Binghamton on top, 2-1.

Neither starter factored into the decision. Both Lara and Vasquez gave up one run on six hits in seven innings. Lara struck out seven and didn't walk a batter. Jack Leathersich (3-3) pitched a scoreless eighth to pick up his second straight win. Cody Satterwhite shut the door in the ninth for his 11 th save.

The B-Mets (67-46) and Baysox wrap up their series with Sunday at 6:35 PM. LHP Steven Matz goes for Binghamton opposite RHP Zach Davies for Bowie. The Horizons Federal Credit Union Pregame Show, starting at 6:20 PM, can be heard on News Radio 1290 WNBF and on the Binghamton Mets Baseball Network via the TuneIn App.
