
Rivera, Fruto Named Players Of The Week

DURHAM, NC - The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has named Wichita Wingnuts INF Carlos Rivera and Sioux City Explorers RHP Emiliano Fruto as the Pointstreak Batter and Pitcher of the Week.
Rivera batted .469 in seven games. In 32 at-bats, he collected 15 hits, including four doubles and two home runs, scored 10 runs and drove in 10. Rivera also had a .471 on-base percentage to go along with a slugging percentage of .781. In the 15-4 win over the Winnipeg Goldeyes Saturday, the Rio Grande, PR resident went 5-for-6 at the plate with two home runs, three RBIs and five runs scored.
Fruto notched a 1-0 record with two saves in three appearances this past week. In seven innings pitched, he gave up four hits, including two doubles, five walks and fanned 10 batters. His opponents hit only .167. Fruto is currently 2-2 on the season with a 2.05 ERA and 10 saves.
