Winnipeg 15, St. Paul 2
Winnipeg registered 20 total hits against St. Paul en route to a 15-2 victory against the Saints at Shaw Park. Winnipeg scored in five different innings, and the Goldeyes got on the board first in the bottom of the first inning to take an early 3-0 lead. First baseman Jon Weber and first baseman Brian Myrow each batted in a run in the second to extend Winnipeg's lead, and a pair of homers in the next frame helped Winnipeg score seven total runs in the third. St. Paul scored in the sixth and eighth innings, but Winnipeg tacked on runs late in the game, too, and cruised past the Saints. Seven Goldeyes had at least two hits against St. Paul, and Myrow batted in four of Winnipeg's 15 runs. Weber chipped in three hits, three RBI and two runs for the Goldeyes, while center fielder Aharon Eggleston led St. Paul with two hits and two runs in four RBI. Andrew Walker, now 9-4 on the season, earned the win by allowing seven hits, two runs and striking out four in nine innings pitched.
Fort Worth 8, Grand Prairie 7 (10 innings)
After trailing for much of the game, Grand Prairie scored six runs in the ninth inning to tie the score, but the Cats held on to edge the AirHogs 8-7 in the 10th inning at LaGrave Field. Fort Worth and Grand Prairie were tied 1-1 after five innings, but the Cats scored six straight runs during the sixth and seventh frames to take the lead. In the ninth inning, Grand Prairie scored six runs on four hits to tie the score. In the bottom of the 10th inning, first baseman Trent Lockwood singled to bat in right fielder Marcos Rodriguez for Fort Worth's winning run. Lockwood led Fort Worth with three hits, three RBI and two runs in five at-bats, and second baseman David Espinosa chipped in three hits, one run and one RBI for Grand Prairie. Nick DeBarr, now 4-5 on the season, earned the win by allowing three hits, one run and striking out two in 1.2 innings pitched.
Shreveport-Bossier 9, Gary SouthShore 3
Center fielder Robert Perry and right fielder Alex Cowart each registered three hits and two runs in five at-bats to help Shreveport-Bossier top Gary SouthShore 9-3 at U.S. Steel Yard Stadium. The Captains got on the board in the first inning when third baseman Bryan Sabatella batted in Perry, but neither team scored a run during the next three innings. After trailing Shreveport-Bossier 6-0, Gary SouthShore scored its first run of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Captains scored three of the next five runs to cruise to victory against the RailCats. In addition to strong performances by Perry and Cowart, designated hitter Palmer Karr Jr. added two hits, two runs and two RBI for the Captains, and second baseman Brad Boyer led the RailCats with two hits and one run in five at-bats. Alex Kaminsky, now 3-1 on the season, earned the win by allowing eight hits, one run and striking out seven in seven innings pitched.
El Paso 6, Amarillo 3
Nelson Teilon hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the first inning to give El Paso an early lead, and the Diablos held on to top Amarillo 6-3 at Cohen Stadium. Both teams scored one run in each of the second, fourth and fifth innings, but for the Sox, it just wasn't enough to come back. Three different Diablos had more than one hit in the game, and first baseman Javier Brito led with three hits and one run in four at-bats. Third baseman Van Pope was the only Amarillo player to record more than one hit, and he led with three hits, two runs and one RBI in four at-bats. El Paso recorded 15 total hits in the game while Amarillo had just six, and the Diablos left seven men on base. Reymond Cruz, now 4-6 on the season, earned the win by allowing five hits, three runs and striking out seven in 6.1 innings pitched.
