
River Riders Split the Home and Home Series against Bristol 9-4

Elizabethton River Riders News Release
ELIZABETHTON, TN --- The River Riders defeated the Bristol State Liners 9-4 in Elizabethton at Northeast Community Credit Union. The River Riders are 15-12 halfway through the season and are 1.5 back from first place in the West Division.
The River Riders jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first on an RBI sac fly by shortstop Marcus Brown to score right fielder Mario Zabala.
The State Liners scored two runs in the top of the second on a double by second baseman Daniel Stephens and a fly-out by left fielder Grayson Preslar.
Elizabethton scored one run in the bottom of the third on a sacrifice fly by third baseman Johnathan Soto.
The River Riders scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI double by Brown.
E-Town continued to score in the fifth, with centerfielder DJ Sullivan scoring on a wild pitch.
River Riders scored in sixth on a double steal by Brown, and Zabla stole home.
The River Riders scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh on RBI's by second baseman John Montes, designated hitter Robert Bavon, and a fly-out by Brown.
