River Rats Set For Post-Game Jersey Auction

ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today the American Hockey League club will wear specially designed 15th Anniversary Jerseys when they face the Philadelphia Phantoms Sunday, March 2 at 5 p.m. at the Times Union Center. For the second consecutive season, the jerseys will be auctioned off to fans following the game with all proceeds to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

The jersey auction will begin approximately 10 minutes after the game. The fan with the winning bid on each jersey will be invited on to the ice to receive it from the River Rats player who wore it during the game.

The River Rats in association with the Ronald McDonald House designed the 15th Anniversary jerseys, which feature McDonald's primary colors of red and yellow, the River Rats 15th Anniversary logo on the crest with yellow and white striping along the sleeves.

"We are thrilled to once again team up with the Albany River Rats on this wonderful event," said Jeff Yule, executive director of the Albany Ronald McDonald House. "The River Rats have been major supporters of House for over a decade through countless visits to seriously-ill children by players and the club's mascot Rowdy to the House and our Family Room at Albany Medical Center. They have generously donated tickets to families to enjoy a much needed night out top go with tens of thousands of dollars raised in support of our mission. We are humbled by the support of the team's ownership, management, players as well as their dedicated fans and for that we salute the River Rats organization presenting the 2008 Ronald McDonald House Jersey Auction."

Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region, Inc. provides comfort, support and respite for families of seriously ill children in a compassionate and home-like environment through the operation of the Ronald McDonald House and the Ronald McDonald House Family Room in the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center. In addition, Ronald McDonald House Charities operates The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile in partnership with St. Peter's Health Care Services and also awards grants to program in the community that enhance the lives of children. The Ronald McDonald regional chapter supports a house on Lake Avenue in Albany, just blocks from the Children's Hospital at Albany Medical Center.
