
Flames Begin Road Trip With Visit To Manitoba

Moline, IL- The Quad City Flames hit the road this week for their first ever trip to Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Flames will be looking to avenge two home ice losses to the Moose earlier this season. The games on Saturday and Sunday in Winnipeg mark the beginning of a four-game road trip.
Last week, the Flames wrapped up a stretch of seven games in ten nights. Quad City suffered a shootout loss in Milwaukee on Tuesday before losing 5-1 to Hamilton on Wednesday. The team bounced back to record a 6-2 win over Peoria and a 6-1 victory vs. Grand Rapids to close the week. During the seven-game stretch, the Flames went 4-2-0-1 and move into a tie for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Flames invite fans to follow the team on the road via b2 Viewing Parties at Bleacher Bums in Davenport or Parkside Grill and Lounge in Moline. Drink specials will be offered at both locations. Fans in attendance at Bleacher Bums can purchase $5 domestic pitchers or buckets of beer for $12. Bleacher Bums is located at 3811 N. Harrison Street in Davenport, across the street from Lujack's. Parkside Grill and Lounge is located at 2307 5th Avenue in Moline.

The Flames make their first ever visit to Winnipeg to face the Manitoba Moose on Saturday and Sunday. The Flames are 0-1-0-1 vs. the Moose this year. Manitoba beat Quad City 3-2 in a shootout on Halloween Night at the i wireless Center. The Moose secured another one-goal win in a 3-2 win at the i wireless Center on December 1st. Manitoba's Brad Moran scored with 58 seconds left in regulation to win the game for the Moose.
Flames On WYEC 93.9 FM
The Flames game broadcasts can be heard on FM radio as 93.9 FM WYEC will carry all 80 games, all playoff appearances and the Flames weekly radio show. This week's games will be preceded by the Hayman's Ace Hardware Pre-Game Show beginning 25 minutes prior to face-off. After the game, stay tuned for the Kinetic Fitness Post-Game Show. The Flames Forum returns to the air tonight at 6:00 p.m.

Tuesday, February 19th - Quad City Flames 2 at Milwaukee Admirals 3 Shootout
The Flames participated in their league leading 16th shootout on Tuesday night with Milwaukee earning the 3-2 extra session victory. Brandon Prust and Krys Kolanos provided the regulation markers while Matt Keetley stopped 31 shots in regulation and overtime. Brandon Prust recorded the only goal of the opening frame as he scored into an empty net following a turnover by Pekka Rinne. The Milwaukee netminder fed the puck up the right wing wall where Flames forward Brett Sutter forced a turnover. Sutter took a shot on the Milwaukee net that deflected to Prust. On his second swat, the Flames enforcer found the back of the net to put the Flames in front 1-0. Kevin Ulanski scored the only goal of the second period when he potted his second of the season with just 36 seconds remaining in the middle frame. Ulanski scored a point blank range following a feed from Admiral left wing John Laliberte. The teams exchanged 5-on-3 power play goals in the third period. Krys Kolanos netted his 22nd goal of the year on a shot from an off angle during a Flames two man advantage at 3:34 of the closing frame. Milwaukee answered with a two-man advantage marker of their own at 7:23 of the third period. The teams skated scoreless through the remainder of regulation and overtime to set up a shootout. A high-scoring shootout featured five goals, three of which were scored by Milwaukee.
Wednesday, February 20th - Hamilton Bulldogs 5 at Quad City Flames 1
Five games in six days proved too much for the Flames on Wednesday night as they dropped a 5-1 decision to Hamilton in the final game of a crowded stretch. Tim Ramholt netted the only Flames goal as Quad City fell to 26-22-2-7. Duncan Milroy netted his 13th goal of the year at 15:03 of the first period to give Hamilton a 1-0 lead. Milroy crashed the front of the Quad City net and jammed a rebounded past Flames netminder Curtis McElhinney at the left wing post. The goal stood up as the only marker of the opening frame as Hamilton closed the opening 20 minutes with a 1-0 lead. Tim Ramholt scored at 5:26 of the second period on a shot from the right wing wall during a Flames power-play. Kolanos and Germyn earned helpers on the tally. Hamilton answered back with a power-play marker of their own. Marvin Degon made a pass from behind the net to set up Mikhail Grabovski for his sixth goal in ten games with the Bulldogs. Hamilton scored again with just 29 seconds left in the second to open up a two-goal edge at 3-1. Matt D'Agostini scored from the doorstep on a perfect free by Grabovski. The tally was D'Agostini's 17th of the year and his third in the last two Hamilton games. The Bulldogs clinched the win with a pair of third period tallies. Marvin Degon scored during a 5-on-3 power play at 8:45 of the period, and Kyle Chipchura scored into an empty net with 1:53 left.
Friday, February 22nd - Peoria Rivermen 2 at Quad City Flames 6
Carsen Germyn netted a hat trick on his 26th birthday as Quad City cruised to a 6-2 win over Peoria on Friday at the i wireless Center. The team tied a season high for goals thanks to Germyn's hat trick and solo markers from Tomi Maki, Tim Ramholt and Kris Chucko. Nikolay Lemtyugov netted his 17th goal of the year following a slick set of passes from Jean-Guy Trudel and Nicholas Drazenovic at 4:32 of the opening frame. The Rivermen's tally stood up after 20 minutes and Peoria skated to the dressing room with a 1-0 lead. The Flames dominated the middle period as they set a new franchise record for goals in the second period with four. Carsen Germyn started the onslaught when he scored on a blast from just inside the Peoria blueline. Krys Kolanos earned an assist on the goal to stretch his scoring streak to eight games. Tomi Maki added a goal at 2:41 when he scored on a goal-mouth scramble. Germyn struck again at 6:18 when he converted on a loose puck in the Rivermen crease. Tim Ramholt capped the scoring with another blast from the point for his fourth goal of the year. In the third, Carsen Germyn capped his hat trick with a power-play goal just 2:03 into the frame. Kris Chucko added his seventh at 13:23 of the third to tie a Flames team high with six goals. Peoria's Nicholas Drazenovic netted his 10th goal at 15:06 of third to set the final at 6-2.
Sunday, February 24th - Grand Rapids Griffins 1 at Quad City Flames 6
The Flames offense proved unstoppable for a second consecutive game as the team rolled to a 6-1 win while tying team records for goals in a game and goals in a second period (four). Krys Kolanos and Kris Chucko both tied franchise records with four points on the night. Both forwards had two goals with two assists. Tomi Maki and David Van der Gulik also added solo tallies. The teams traded goals in the opening period. Krys Kolanos scored just 77 seconds into the game to stake Quad City to a 1-0 lead. The goal extended Kolanos' scoring streak to nine consecutive games. Tim Ramholt, who assisted on Kolanos' marker, established a three-game scoring streak on the goal. The Griffins answered back with a power-play tally by Ryan Oulahen at 12:30 of the first. The Flames scored four times in the second period. The outburst marked the second consecutive game in which the Flames recorded a quartet of goals in the middle frame. Kris Chucko started the second period scoring when he swatted in a loose puck during a goal mouth scramble at 1:01 of the frame. Tomi Maki followed with his second goal in as many nights. Maki drove hard to the Griffins net and tipped in a pass by Derek Couture from the right wing wall. Kolanos added his second goal of the night at 12:43 of the second. Chucko capped the four-goal second frame with his second goal of the night off a face off win by Kolanos. The Flames tied a franchise record for goals in a game when David Van der Gulik scored his 12th of the season on a Flames power-play in the third. Van der Gulik's marker set the final at 6-1 in favor of Quad City.
