Missouri River Otters News Release

St. Charles, MO --- The Missouri River Otters of the United Hockey League are proud to announce that they have re-signed all-star forward Charlie Blyth for the upcoming season.

"Charlie comes highly recommended," River Otters coach Kevin Kaminski said. "He does a little bit of everything and he plays with an edge. He's a guy that everyone likes to have on their team and no one likes to play against."

The 2004-05 campaign will be Blyth's fourth in an Otters uniform, and his offensive consistency ranks him fifth all-time among River Otters point scorers. The crafty winger has racked up 69 goals and 84 helpers for 153 points in 218 games with the team, including 26 goals and 27 assists last season.

Blyth, who made the all-star team last season, needs 14 more points to tie Jeremy Rebek for fourth on the all-time Otters scoring list, and is only 31 points out of second place.

"I'm very excited to be back with the Otters," Blyth said. "St. Louis has become my home year round and the Otters are what brought me here. They gave me my first opportunity at the pro level and I'm honored to say that this organization has a strong place in my heart. My wife and I are proud to be a part of the River Otters goal of bringing a championship to Missouri. I know that Kevin Kaminski is working hard at putting together a great team and I'm very excited to be a part of that process."

The River Otters start their Colonial Cup quest Friday, October 15 at Kansas City, and the home opener is Saturday, October 23 against Quad City.
