River Otters Add Rookie Skill and Toughness

St. Charles, MO --- The Missouri River Otters of the United Hockey League are proud to announce that they have signed rookies Rodney Sundquist and Mark Odut for the upcoming season.

Sundquist, 21, is a towering defenseman who played the past two seasons for the Battlefield North Stars of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. Checking in at 6'5'', 240 pounds, he is expected to add toughness to the Otters blue line. In two years with the North Stars he played 110 games, scoring five goals, adding eleven assists, and racking up 268 penalty minutes.

Odut, 24, is an offensively gifted forward who played last year for the Sait Trojans of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference. In 28 games, the 5'11'' forward fired home 17 goals and dished out 19 helpers, putting him sixth in the league with 36 points. He also has a knack for scoring big goals, as he led his team with three game winners.

The River Otters start their Colonial Cup quest Friday, October 15 at Kansas City, and the home opener is Saturday, October 23 against Quad City.
