River Lions Derail Express, 99-92

(ST. CATHERINE'S, ON)- The Windsor Express (18-15) travelled to the Meridian Centre with the hopes of winning their second straight to the Niagara River Lions (14-19). The River Lions outscored the Express in the fourth quarter 29-14, prompting a 99-92 win.

The Express were off to a hot start in the game, earning a 7-0 lead in the first two minutes. The River Lions regained the lead after Da'Quan Cook hit back to back buckets, 15-14. The Express finished the first quarter down by two, 21-19.

Rudolphe Joly starts off the second quarter with a floater to tie the score, 21-21. From there, scoring would alternate between both teams. Tony Bennett hit a three pointer to give Windsor a five point lead, 32-27. Windsor went into halftime with a 57-43 lead.

The Express kept their momentum going in the third quarter, extending their lead over the River Lions. Maurice Bolden throws down a one handed dunk with 3:20 left in the quarter, to give the Express their biggest lead of the game, 72-60. The Express finished the third quarter with a 78-70 advantage.

Windsor maintained their lead throughout the fourth quarter, until Niagara made a comeback, going on a 7-0 run midway through to bring the score within 2, 86-84. Logan Stutz puts Niagara back in the lead after hitting a three pointer, 92-91 with 1:40 left in the game. Windsor was not able to come back, and Niagara would come out with a win, 99-92.

Tony Bennett put up a game high 24 points.

Two Express players finished with double doubles: Maurice Bolden (23 points/10 rebounds) and Chris Commons (12 points/11 rebounds).

Da'Quan Cook and Logan Stutz each finished with 17 points for the River Lions. Travis Releford added 14 points of his own.

The Windsor Express will be back on the road on Friday, April 8th to take on the Orangeville A's at the Athlete Institute for a 7:00pm game start.

The Express return home to the WFCU Centre on Friday, April 15th to host the Moncton Miracles for a 7:30pm game start.
